Project Overview

Healthcare providers in functional and integrative medicine across the U.S., including pharmacists, physicians, and NPs, faced major hurdles managing BHRT: fragmented records, manual onboarding, complex clinical decisions, limited scalability, and increasing HIPAA compliance demands.

SiGa built a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant portal for providers, support staff, and BHRT consultants. It combines unified case management, a guided onboarding wizard, a physician-driven rule engine, workflow automation, and white-label branding.

The platform is built around configurability. Each practice can customize its onboarding forms and branding, and physicians define clinical rules in plain English that the system converts programmatically into decision logic for labs and prescriptions.

02

Key Results

Reduced Onboarding Effort

Onboarding and administrative effort was significantly reduced, with more accurate and complete intake data captured through the platform's guided onboarding process.

Faster Decision-Making

The physician-driven rule engine supported faster decision-making and automated lab and prescription workflows for providers using the platform.

Nationwide Use

Specialty clinics and compounding pharmacies use the platform widely across the country, in addition to the functional and integrative medicine providers it serves.

03

The Challenge

Fragmented Patient Records

Patient information was fragmented and unstructured across records, and moving it into a new system required secure migration of sensitive patient data.

Manual Patient Onboarding

Patient onboarding was manual, and different specialties needed flexible, dynamic intake forms that each practice could tailor to its own demographics, history, medication, and allergy requirements.

Complex Clinical Decisions

BHRT care involved complex clinical decisions about labs and prescriptions, and physicians needed a way to express their own decision rules in plain English.

Scalability and Compliance Pressure

Limited scalability and increasing HIPAA and privacy requirements meant practices needed a system that could grow while keeping patient data secure and compliant.

Adoption by Clinical Staff

The project had to prove efficiency and ROI to non-technical clinical staff, who needed to understand the platform’s value in their daily work.

Our Approach

Healthcare professional using a digital patient management system

Cloud-Based Portal

SiGa built a secure, HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based portal that gives providers, support staff, and BHRT consultants a shared place to manage patient cases.

Healthcare professional assisting a patient with onboarding

Configurable Multi-Step Onboarding

A guided, multi-step intake wizard collects demographics, history, medications, and allergies, and each practice can customize it through a no-code form builder.

Physician using a clinical decision support system

Physician-Driven Rule Engine

Physicians can define rules using plain language. The system programmatically converts these rules into clinical decision logic that can support laboratory and prescription workflows.

Healthcare professionals using workflow automation software

Workflow Automation and Expert Support

SiGa delivered hands-on provider training and documentation, and added white-label features so each practice can present its own branding to providers and patients.

Training and Practice-Specific Branding

SiGa delivered hands-on provider training and documentation, and added white-label features so each practice can present its own branding to providers and patients.

05

Key Features

Unified Case Management

Secure, centralized management of patient, laboratory, communication, and case information.

Modular Onboarding Forms

Configurable, modular onboarding forms streamline patient intake and can be adapted to the requirements of different practices and specialties.

Physician-Driven Rule Engine

Physician-written rules drive automated lab and prescription suggestions, keeping recommendations aligned with the physician's own clinical logic.

Real-Time Decision Support

Real-time decision support helps providers deliver evidence-based, compliant care while managing BHRT for their patients.

White-Label Customization

White-label options let practices apply their own branding for a consistent experience for patients and providers.

06

Technical Challenge

Natural Language to Executable Logic

Rules that physicians write in plain English had to be converted programmatically into executable clinical decision logic for labs and prescriptions.

Dynamic Onboarding Forms

Onboarding forms had to be flexible and dynamic enough to fit different specialties, while still capturing demographics, history, medications, and allergies.

Secure Data Migration

Fragmented, unstructured patient data had to be migrated securely into the platform, which added complexity to handling sensitive health information.

Evolving HIPAA Requirements

The platform had to stay compliant with evolving HIPAA and privacy requirements, using encrypted storage, multi-factor authentication, and HIPAA-compliant infrastructure.

08

Results & Impact

Operational Efficiency at Intake

Practice teams spent significantly less effort on onboarding and administration, and the intake information they collected was more accurate and complete.

Automated Lab and Prescription Workflows

Physician-defined rules supported automated lab and prescription workflows within the documented platform processes, with faster decision-making for providers.

09

Conclusion

Providers in functional and integrative medicine faced fragmented records, manual onboarding, complex clinical decisions, and HIPAA demands in managing BHRT. SiGa built a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant platform for providers, staff, and BHRT consultants to address them.

The platform combines unified case management, configurable onboarding, a physician-driven rule engine, decision support, and white-label branding. Documented outcomes include lower onboarding effort, faster decision-making, automated lab and prescription workflows, and wide use among specialty clinics and compounding pharmacies.

The project reflects SiGa’s custom software development approach to complex requirements: translating physician-defined rules into working logic, making onboarding configurable by practice, and pairing the software with hands-on provider training and documentation.
